If she's such an awful governor, why is her approval rating so high? If all of your assumptions about her ability to govern and all her terrible associations are correct, shouldn't her approval rating be lower than Blago's (which was below 10%)? I'm truly sorry to have to tell you this but the American public are not exactly political connoisseurs. Approval ratings tell us nothing but the opinions of the badly informed public, whose knowledge of contemporary politics is usually limited to what they have heard on the news that day and I'm sure you're not delusional enough to assume the media actually portrays politicians accurately: if it's in the interests of the government to make Palin look good, the media will try to do just that.

Very true mellielli, in this case the media wanted to make Palin look bad and make Obama look good. Just look at the statistics, both CNN and MSNBC were gave so much more preferential treatment to Obama than to McCain or even Hillary Clinton. If they weren't in the tank for Obama, who knows what the results would be.

From an outsider from the UK who didnt witness biased views of US media, I can tell you that the reason Obama came accross as the better candidate was because he was the only person running who could be slightly capable of performing the task of running your Country. Palin/ McCain and even Hillary didn't need the media to make them look bad they simply do not have what it takes to be in control of such a major influence in the Global Economy. Don't get me wrong, I hope Obama does well and has the ability to turn this country around. The only reason I didn't vote for him was because he hasn't managed anything in his life, save his campaign (albeit a great one) and his community organizing, and has no record of what he can do (with a history of not working across the aisles as senator).
