I like the Maybach better. I know the RR is owned by BMW which is one of my favorite cars, but I can't get over those Maybachs! I mean, I'd take the 7-Series over an S-Class ANY day. But in this class luxury, I'd take the Maybach over the RR ANY day. I just LOVED that Maybach from the first time I saw it and actually sat in one. It was an exhilarating experience! The RR never really gave me that wow factor. Nice car, but that's ALL it is to me! A nice car! The Maybach is a DREAM in comparison!

you would choose a 7 series over a s-class your tripping the 740li is not better then the s-550 the 750li is not better than the s-600 the 760li is not better than the s-65 amg which is one of the fastes four door sedans in the world. mercedes is way ahead of bmw look at all their cars they go from luxury to exotics bimmer cant do the benz goes from e-class to the slr mclaren

Maury, It's obvious that we have a difference in opinion, here. So lets just agree to disagree. I think the topic between which car is better, in this case, Mercedes (Maybach) vs. BMW (Rolls Royce) is VERY subjective and personal. But then there are people who don't like either of these cars and would take a Maserati Quattroporte or a Bentley instead. It's preference and a matter of opinion. But if I had to pick ONE car, it's the Maybach hands down. For me it's THE car to have. No exceptions.

The maybach is not only ugly, but its bland and offers nothing more in my opinion than an S-class, in itself a bland and rather badly made car... RR wins hands down purely because of its class

In die prijsregionen gaat het voornamelijk om stijl door uitstraling. Zo'n Maybach is werkelijk oerlelijk. Hij heeft het charisma van een komkommer. Duitsers zijn goed in techniek. Niet in het neerzetten van de emotie van techniek. Daarvoor moet je bij de Engelsen zijn. De Rolls is het beste van twee werelden.

im confused how you going to choose a 7 series over an s class when your dream car is the maybach and the s class is based on the maybach. take a picture of a maybach and one of an s class and your going to see the similarities

Based on looks alone, the Rolls Royce wins hands down. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I think the Maybach design is a little pedestrian and much less distinctive than the Rolls. I wouldn't complain if I was forced to drive either car, however :)

the phantom is TINY compared to the maybach. no leg room, no headroom. its soo... vertically oriented. im not sure about any one else, but id rather lay back and relax than get scrunched upward. o and the maybach is MUCH faster.

well... im right in the middle and i cant choose. maybachs more subtle and great engineering. rolls is a great car but the styling follows the "heavy elegance" path - the front design and small glasshouse say it. and the maybach is just a big merc. but the rolls is just a big bmw. so id consider the Bentley (whatever in the same class, Arnage perhaps) which is an audi.
