brokenlashes, your brain is broken! As someone who had a windows smartphone (blackjack) and the iPhone 3G now, I can tell you that they're NOTHING alike!
There's a reason that everyone and his mother is now trying to make their "me too" touch phone and it isn't because the iPhone is a "crappier windows smartphone", that's for sure.
Try surfing the web on a smartphone. Painful at best. The iPhone isn't perfect, but it changed the game, that's for sure. All of the imitators show you that.

I have surfed the web on many smartphones, no problems here. Chances are it's the user with the problem. This is something that Microsoft was first in and are still leading the market. The IPhone has just created an inadequate alternative. It did change the game. The MAC fanboys ran out to buy them, everyone else laughed at them.....and still are.

brokenlashes, either you've surfed the web on something like a blackjack and can admit that that's painful, or you've never used an iPhone so you don't know what you're missing.
Here's the simplest of tests. Borrow an iPhone and use a blackjack. Next navigate to craigslist with each phone. Then click on the "cars & trucks" link in the "for sale" section. On the blackjack, you'll click the down button about 25 times (or scroll forever) while with the iphone you simply see the link and press it.

With windows mobile devices, pages get rendered like shit because it's not a real browser. And because the screen is so small, you see a tiny portion of the page. To zoom requires the menu and choosing from a few settings. Furthermore, there are no multiple tabs and quicktime doesn't play. But yeah...that's a user problem!
As a programmer, I use *every* OS and don't show favoritism. I pick the *best* product, period. Forget that fanboy nonsense, it makes you sound like you're a moron!

It's pretty expensive, I think it's $69.99 a month in my area for a basic plan and $300 for the actual phone. I think I'll be happy with my current plan paying $20 a month :D

I use iPhone for business and personal and find it perfectly adequate. I have used Windows Mobile and Symbian devices in the past and am very happy with the iPhone.
